Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince trailer now online!

As Harry Potter begins his 6th year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, he discovers an old book marked mysteriously "This book is the property of the Half-Blood Prince" and begins to learn more about Lord Voldemort's dark past.
Trailer Video

Don't be fooled by the many videos claiming to be the movie trailer (those are just fan videos) because, for the mean time, only a few sites like MSN have been given the exclusive use of the true trailer.

Cuil -- here comes the new challenger!

Cuil, (pronounced "cool"), is a recently-launched search engine that challenges Google and claims to be better than than any other. Note: The engine was made by a former Google engineer and his husband.

Click here to see Cuil's About Us

Cuil Headlines

Summary of Cuil’s features (from Alt Search Engines)
  • Biggest Internet search engine – Cuil has indexed 120 billion Web pages, 3X more than any other search engine
  • Organized results – Cuil’s magazine-style layout separates results by subject and allows further search by concept or category
  • Different results – Unlike other search engines, Cuil ranks results by the content on each page not its popularity
  • Complete privacy protection – Cuil does not keep any personally identifiable information on users or their search histories

EDIT: I agree with Anita Hamilton (author of third Cuil headline above), Cuil's results page layout is not good. Try Search Me, it made me smile.

Blogs are biggest sources of viruses on the Web--Sophos

The article by Lawrence Casiraya with the above title is OVER HERE.

INQUIRER.net has all the rights on the article reserved. The "material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed". But I may link to it. *hurrah!*

---------------------------
Don't worry, this blog doesn't load any virus to your PC. At least I won't be the one to make it.

Mike and Pacifico

The better way to watch the 4chan drama is to read Mike Abundo's blog, that I figured a few hours ago when I have read Mike's latest post.

So here what happens: Mike posted yesterday 4chan DDoS Suspect Video, which talked about Joseph Biaso, a 16-year old hacker aka Pacifico, verifying the allegation that he DDoSed the site. Then about four hours ago, a new post from Mike showed a message from Pacifico now denying the accusation: 4chan DDoS Suspect Contradicts Self.

Web for indie film distribution

Jim Libiran is a Filipino independent film director. The video was taken by INQUIRER.net multimedia reporter Izah Morales.

I would love for indie films to be accessible through the internet. Sure, this would cause a lot of piracy, but I think their productions are not profit-oriented anyway. I missed a lot of really nice indie films; Pisay the movie, for example. Anybody who has a copy of it?

Attention: Yahoo Stockholders, Subscribers and Fans

Below is a post lifted from Mike Abundo's blog.

Save Yahoo from Microsoft!

If you went to Yahoo today, you may have noticed its message for stockholders on the front page. Long story short: some guy wants to rip Yahoo apart and sell it to Microsoft for a quick buck. Yahoo wants stockholders to vote against this dismemberment.

Fortunately, the message seems to be coming through loud and clear. I’m not a big fan of putting worthless drama on your front page, but this is not worthless drama. It’s not blog comment drama, and it’s certainly not 4chan drama. It’s $44.6 billion drama.

If you’re Filipino, Yahoo’s probably your email address and instant messenger, and those of your loved ones as well. You may not own Yahoo stock, but your readers might. Let them know how you feel about Microsoft trying to tear your portal apart.

I’m not the world’s biggest Yahoo fan, but I don’t want to see it torn apart by Microsoft.

So what are you waiting for? Help spread the word! Quote this post, link to this post, tell your friends, whatever. I, too, enjoy a number of Yahooo services, that is why I am doing my part. Do yours!

What my life be like five years from now?

A pro in what I do.

Five years from now I shall be one of the eight or so persons that will march to receive BS degree in Electrical Engineering from the country’s premiere university. After having another look at what I learned in college, I will take the board exam and pass it with flying colours. I will, by then, evaluate the job offers of many reputable power and electricity firms, and will choose the finest among them. After a year or two on practice, I will arrange my time such that it will make possible for me to pursue a Masters of Engineering, or Science, degree while working. I will first work here in the Philippines, serving the people to whom I owe the gift of my high school and college education and to whom I will appeal again to assist me in taking up my Masters.

The lighter side of the story: On a beautiful Sunday morning five years from now, while enjoying my Starbucks coffee, a chap from Inquirer.net will interview me about my life doing blog. He will ask the question that all seasoned bloggers are being asked, “When did you start?” which I will readily answer with, “Delajoker started blogging about five years before now.”

Bulacan Church Tour: Final Installment

It was so tiring, but nevertheless fun.

We are required (or maybe I'm inventing) by our Kasaysayan 1 prof Mr. Tantoco to prepare a report about the trip. I'll post mine here and there the photos will be labeled and maybe discussed . Unfrotunately, Mae's cam went off in Barasoain, the second to the last stop. You know what heppend next. I have to ask Eugene for pictures of sceneries the cam missed. Anyway, here goes the rest of the pictures I've got. Like in the previous post, the picture below is a link to more of them.

I need some sleep. (—_—) zzzZ

UPDATE (July 31, 2008): I was inventing. lol

Bulacan Church Tour: 1st Installment

The picture below is a link to the first batch of pictures taken during our church tour in Bulacan, featuring sceneries in Grotto and Divine Mercy. We are having a two-hour lunch break here in SM City Marilao and I thought of uploading these photos. I am posting from a branch here of Netopia, a rather very disappointing shop because of their applications' turtle-like respones. By the way, I would like to thank Mae Grutas for her digicam that caught the sceneries. I'll organize and label the photos later. There are five more churches waiting for us. Gotta run!
